Another thing that makes these MINI projectors so special is the ease of install. The projectors use H1 HID bulbs. Generally, the install process takes 1. Remove the headlamp lens 2.

Place the projector by inserting the threaded bulb insertion shaft through the hole (where halogen bulb was in) 3. Insert the rubber seal and washer. Then hand-tighten the locking washer to secure the projector in place. Reverse the step #1 and you are all set.

Please note that professional installation is strongly recommended as it requires headlamp removal, baked to be taken apart.
